Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is expected to take an important role for object identification as a ubiquitous infrastructure. The tags attached on things provide information for logistics, storage, anti-counterfeit and etc. When RFID technology is penetrating into daily life, people start to concern the information security and privacy problem more and more seriously, which brings a strong requirement for good encrypt solution of RFID system while still under constrains of power, cost and communication speed. Based on a security model, a security enhancement is applied to the EPC C1G2 RFID protocol and the performance is evaluated. In section 2, possible attacks which might be applied to the RFID system are introduced. According to these types of attack, a security model is established in section 3 to evaluated the security of a given system; in section 4, a existed RFID protocol is analysis and a security improvement is applied on it. The performance evaluation is done in section 5. Finally conclusion is presented in section 6.
After a trademark dispute, the EPC Prototyping Platform is now called "Fosstrak" (previously Accada). Fosstrak stands for "free and open source software for track and trace".
